I loved the Neutrogena toner. Good for acne and chemical exfoliation. I get very mild acne. So having that one simple acne treatment product makes the world of difference for my skin. All those small little bumps disappeared off my skin when I started using it.

IMG_0584Product Details

  • Reduces redness and irritation
  • Formulated with green tea and cucumber extracts
  • Contains 2% salicylic acid
  • contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA’s)
  • Though the price varies, I paid over $8.00 for this product
  • Is 237 ml (8 fl oz)

As much as I loved this product, I wanted a product that was cruelty-free, similar performance, but higher quality ingredients. I researched and I found this product by Paula’s Choice. This makes a lot of claims.

Paula’s choice Clear Regular Strength Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution

  • Contains 2% salicylic acid
  • Reduces blackheads, white bumps, and acne
  • Contains beta hydroxy acid (BHA’s)
  • $26.00
  • 118 ml (4 fl oz)

As you can see, there is a clear difference between the two. I hesitated buying Paula’s choice because of the size and price difference. But right now I currently do not regret it. The PC is unscented. I can actually breath using it. The Neutrogena smelled nice at first. But after awhile I started coughing while using it. Also, after doing my research, there is a clear difference between AHA’s and BHA’s. BHA seems to be multifunctional with its actions and gentle enough for people with sensitive skin conditions.

I have not used this product by PC as of yet. But I’m going to have to remember not to saturate my cotton pad. more isn’t better with these things.
